(rvs/pcp) At the annual congress of the European Academy of Philately (AEP) during MonacoPhil on 30 November 2019, President Jean Voruz (Switzerland) presented his annual report.

Then he admitted eight new members from Belgium, Great Britain, Hong-Kong, Italy, Spain and Switzerland to the Academy. On the same occasion, Patrick Maselis RDP (Belgium) was awarded the AEP’s highest medal, the Mérite philatélique européen, for his sustained promotion of philately in Europe over many years. Prof. Guy Dutau (Toulouse, France) was awarded the European Prize for Philatelic Literature for his groundbreaking work on The Disinfection of Mail in France and the Occupied Countries. The press prize for the best European philatelic magazine went to the Dutch magazine filatelie.
