The May 2026 mega-issue (124 pages) starts with everything one needs to know about the once-per-decade U.S. international, Boston 2026 World Expo! This issue gives a sneak peek of Court of Honor rarities, first day ceremonies, and special exhibits, like the LEGO community mosaics! In addition, there are several features connected to special events and exhibits at the Expo: a new Zeppelin exhibit that will be in competition; the history of the extensive Queen Elizabeth II and British Commonwealth museum-style exhibit; and an in-depth article on an 1800s cover from France to Gambia that will accompany Gary Loew’s presentation during the show
Boston 2026 is partnered with the 250th anniversary of the United States, and several colonial, Revolutionary War-era, and early America feature articles can be read: a Pony Express mail service of the 1830s from New Orleans to New York (and up to Boston), decades before the famous transcontinental Pony Express; a cover detailing the movements of General George Washington and his army; and a Revolutionary War-era Boston post office cover. Meanwhile, travel back in time to 1876, the first centennial celebration of the United States and its philatelic creations, and forward again to 2001 with the 225th anniversary of the United States, and a special, though short-lived, program to encourage young people to write letters in celebration.
