A new book, “Blindensendungen in Österreich” (=Postal Deliveries for the Blind in Austria) by Franz-Karl Lindner, investigating the development of blind shipments in Austria has been published.

This publication traces the historical development from the early days of Braille, through the introduction of the special mailing service known as “Blindensendung,” to the exemption from postage in 1954. Numerous contemporary documents and color illustrations bring these changes in postal history to life and make them easy to understand.

This 64 page softbound book is priced at EUR 14 plus shipping. It is available directly from the author who can be contacted on fkl50@gmx.de.
