The 5th annual Crawford Festival will be held at the Royal Philatelic Society’s premises in London on 16-17 June 2026. This year’s this year’s theme of the use of catalogues in philatelic research. There will be eight presentations and a panel discussion that will take place on these two days. The presentations are:
- David Beech on ‘Stamp Catalogues: Origins, Importance and Context’
- Vincent Schouberechts (AIJP Vice President) on ‘Early Belgian Philatelic Literature’
- Eduardo Escalada-Goicoechea on ‘Early Postage Stamp Catalogues – The Incunabula Period’
- Hugh Jefferies on ‘The Stanley Gibbons Catalogue, past present and future’
- Geoff Kellow on ‘The Australian Commonwealth Specialists’ Catalogue, 1926-2026’
- Jay Bigalke on ‘The Future of Philatelic Catalogs, Print, Digital and What Comes Next’
- Kjell Johansen on ‘Catalogue of the Postage Stamps of Norway, Norgeskatalogen’
- John Barefoot on ‘Revenue Catalogues’
At the end of the second day, the winner of the Crawford Medal 2026 will be announced. The Crawford Medal is a silver-gilt medal awarded for the most valuable and original contribution to the study and knowledge of philately published in book. We had reported on the short-listed books earlier.
