(wm-pcp) DBZ No. 13, dated 30 June 2025, announced that Ernst Isermann, the managing director of Philapress-Verlag in Göttingen, had stepped down and would be succeeded by Axel Poelen, who had previously headed the marketing department at the Göttinger Tageblatt. Isermann had been managing director at Philapress (part of the North German media group Madsack) since 2013. During his time there, he established a partnership with the BDPh, whose magazine “philatelie” has been published by Philapress since February 2017. His tenure was characterised by numerous personnel changes, relocation, and ultimately the discontinuation of Briefmarken Spiegel, which was merged into DBZ.

In the July/August issue of Briefmarke, Helmut Kogler, the president of the Association of Austrian Philatelists’ Clubs and editor-in-chief of the magazine, announced that Veronika Pfanzelt, who had been the layout designer for the association’s magazine for seven years, had left, and that Torsten Berndt, the designated managing director of Schwaneberger Verlag in Germering (although Hans W. Hohenester is still listed as managing director in the imprint), would temporarily take over this responsibility, as well as editorial management.

Given all these changes, Swiss philatelists can rejoice alongside Christina Rölli, editor-in-chief of SBZ (Schweizer Briefmarken-Zeitung), as the high-quality magazine was awarded a gold medal by BERNABA in Bern in May! Congratulations!
