The first edition of this book was well received by Albanian Post, as well as by Albanian and foreign readers, collectors and philatelists. Over the years, the book “George Castriot Skanderbeg in Albanian Postage Stamps 1913–2017” has been presented at various international philatelic exhibitions, winning several prizes and medals:
- Verona 2018 (Italy), large vermeil;
- China 2019, silver;
- Cinisello Balsamo 2019 (Italy), large vermeil;
- NAPOSTA 2020 (Germany), large vermeil;
- LONDON-2022, vermeil;
- DEBRA-2024 (Germany), large vermeil.
This revised 2024 edition of the book reflects the new stamp issues released by Albanian Post between 2018 and 2023, providing comprehensive philatelic data on issuance dates, print runs, stamp characteristics and FDCs. This edition also takes into account the feedback received at international philatelic exhibitions from 2018 to 2024. Particular attention has been paid to incorporating the innovations presented in the new MICHEL 2024 and GIMJANI 2023 catalogues regarding the new stamp issues released by the Albanian Post up to 2023.
In revising this book, I was encouraged and helped by my friends and collaborators, including Albanian and foreign philatelists. Among them, I would like to mention the President of the International Association of Philatelic Journalists (AIJP), of which I am a member, Mr Wolfgang Maassen; and the Albanian philatelic veterans Dr Thimi Nika, Lorenc Kaçulini, Besnik Fishta and Beqir Ndrevukaj. I would particularly like to thank the entire AGSTUDIO.al publishing house team, especially the book’s designer, Mr Gjergji Kollumbi, who prepared it for printing professionally and successfully completed the printing to a high standard in accordance with international standards.
