(Germering/pcp) The newly published volume contains details of all Chinese stamp issues, from the first issue by the Empire in 1878 to the most recent issues from the four active sub-regions: Taiwan, the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, and Macau. It also features stamps from Chinese dependencies and foreign post offices in China, providing a comprehensive overview of Chinese philately.

This catalogue includes the Mongolia collection for the first time. This landlocked East Asian country began issuing its own stamps as early as 1924, but neighbouring China did not recognise its independence until 1946. Consequently, during this period, letters from Mongolia were subject to additional postage by the Chinese postal service unless postage had been prepaid with Chinese stamps. Ambitious collectors can now use MICHEL to expand their China collection to include this specialised area.

Editorial improvements have been made throughout the entire work. As with every new edition of a MICHEL volume, the descriptions and price ranges in MICHEL China and Mongolia 2025 have been carefully checked and updated where necessary. Additionally, the editorial team has included rare colour variants in the China Empire and Republic collection area, some of which are valued in the three- to four-digit range. All areas in this volume are now up to date.
