pcp-wm) On April 11, Walter Bernatek, BDPh commissioner of LONDON 2020, informed all registered literature and stamp exhibitors about the changes in the planning of this exhibition.

As previously announced, due to the Corona crisis and related restrictions, the FIP World Exhibition has been postponed to February 19-26, 2022. It is also scheduled to take place at the British Design Center in London-Islington. If requested, stamp exhibitors have the right to withdraw their exhibit by the end of April 2020 with notification of the Commissioner, and they will be reimbursed for any frame/commissioner costs incurred. However, the organiser cannot guarantee that they will be admitted to the exhibition in 2022 if they re-register for it at a later date.

In addition, the LONDON 2020 Organising Committee decided to withdraw the literature class from the World Expo, so that it will be presented at the same venue during STAMPEX from 30 September to 3 October this year. BDPh commissioner Walter Bernatek informed the literature exhibitors to this effect:

“Stampex will have a reading room. The results of the literature exhibits will be announced during Stampex. An award ceremony will take place on the last day of the event. The medals awarded will be those of the FIP London 2020. If Stampex cannot be held at that date due to travel restrictions, the exhibition will be moved to the premises of the Royal Philatelic Society London in December. Should it still not be possible to organise the event in December, a new plan will be developed.”

The AIJP, patron partner of LONDON 2020, announced that it understands the division of the exhibition for compelling reasons and, in view of the unique situation, asks all the literature exhibitors to accept this decision, even if a national exhibition such as STAMPEX does not offer an environment comparable to that of the World Exhibition planned for May 2020. AIJP President Wolfgang Maassen will be happy to answer any questions from exhibitors (Tel. 0 21 63/4 97 60).
