(Sabine Schwanke/pcp) Under this motto, the Philatelistic Library Hamburg e.V. collected donations from its friends and supporters to avert an impending financial collapse, amid dwindling funding from the BDPH and the Foundation for the Promotion of Philately and Postal History.
In response, Auction Galleries Hamburg made its logistics available for its March auction and held a small charity auction of the donations received for the benefit of the library.
Christoph Gärtner, Bietigheim, generously rounded up the proceeds. Promoting philatelic literature and supporting the Philatelic Library in Hamburg has been close to the heart of Christoph Gärtner and his group of companies for many years. On 20 May 2025, the library’s chairman, Dr Michael Kubenz, received a special cheque!
