The AIJP has put together this varied programme, which was made possible by a special occasion. On 15 November, one of the most unusual private libraries will be auctioned at the same venue, namely that of the Swedish Tomas Bjäringer, who was recently awarded the Crawford Medal for his current book on Finland’s classic oval editions, co-authored with Mårten Sundberg. A special literature auction catalogue will be published for this auction, in which the approximately 1,300 lots are described in detail so that the catalogue can also serve as a useful reference work in the future.
This conference and the auction in Wiesbaden are sure to be exciting and fascinating. Not only because of the special festivities in the evening and an inexpensive, good hotel recommended for all participants, but also because of the numerous opportunities to meet personalities from the world of international philately who are rarely seen elsewhere. The AIJP will hold its annual congress on 14 November at the end of the conference, at which a new board will be elected and, after 20 years, the current president, Wolfgang Maassen, will find a successor.
The auction catalogues from Heinrich Köhler will be sent out at the end of August, together with the aforementioned brochure on the literature conference/auction.
