(Nina Neubauer / pcp) The 42nd Felzmann e@uction will take place exclusively online from 6 to 8 May 2025. Although the number of lots is significantly lower than in the January sale, the selection is just as appealing, with a variety of focal points.

As is tradition, the auction will begin with aerophilately. With over 500 selected items from aviation and Zeppelin mail, this is a particularly striking part of the auction. One highlight is the rare and attractive Swiss delivery to the 1931 polar expedition (lot 10471, starting price 3,800 euros).

The first day of the auction concludes with thematic philately and over 160 items signed by well-known personalities from numerous, often popular fields of life. These include a signed portrait photo of composer Wilhelm Kempf from 1956 (lot 10882, starting bid: 100 euros). The fine arts are also well represented with names such as Karl Lagerfeld and Albert Uderzo, as well as pop and rock. Among the latter, the South African singer and civil rights activist Miriam Makeba stands out. The signed portrait photo starts at lot number 10906 with a starting bid of 60 euros.

The following two days include beautiful Austrian and Bavarian philately from the classical to the modern era. This also applies to the German Empire and its so-called ‘ancillary territories’, followed by post-war Germany up to the present day with selected specialities, variants and varieties.

A few selected special items adorn the cover of the print catalogue. Particularly noteworthy is a diagonal halving of the Thurn & Taxis 1 Sgr carmine red, lower right half with full number stamp on collector’s letter fragment (lot 11675, starting price: 3,500 euros). German colonial issues continue to fetch top prices, with Cameroon’s 5 Mk Kaiseryacht with watermark, cleanly stamped and in flawless condition, a particularly sought-after item (lot 12142, starting price: 1,200 euros). This is followed by several other highlights from the Ocean Shipping Company, including 75 Mark II. Second issue on value card. This extremely rare item starts at a bid of 4,500 euros under lot number 12186. Danzig comes with airmail 10,000 Mk without overprint, field 73, together with 15x 50,000 Mk within a corner margin block of 16 without overprint of the new value in immaculate mint condition, unsigned and in superb condition (lot 12242, starting bid: 1,500 euros).

From the Federal Republic of Germany, there are 50 and 70 Pfg Posthorn on R-Luftpost first day cover. This extremely rare first day cover in very good condition can be found under lot number 13011 and starts at a bid of 1,000 euros.
