There is a good reason why I am contacting you again by email today. Especially as I look forward to welcoming you to the EUROPHILEX in Birmingham or the BERNABA in Bern in a few weeks’ time. So here is some information:
1. EUROPHILEX Birmingham
Due to the clash with the RDP ceremony, the AIJP meeting on 9 May 2025 will not take place in the afternoon, but in the morning from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in room 4. All members, but also guests, are very welcome.
I will give a presentation on the topic ‘Worldwide unique: philatelic book rarities with the seal of quality of the CRAWFORD medal’. Of course, I will also be happy to answer any questions you may have. In general, you will probably find me most often in the reading area of the exhibition, which is also supervised by my wife, Claudia.
2. BERNABA Bern
The AIJP will have a stand there, which Rainer von Scharpen and his wife will be in charge of. On 16 May 2025 there will also be an AIJP meeting at this exhibition, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in congress room 7. Hans Schwarz will give a lecture there on the topic ‘Rarities of Swiss philatelic literature’. I myself will also be there for this day.
3. Heinrich Köhler-Summit / AIJP Congress (13–15 November 2025)
Some German members were a bit hesitant because English was announced as the congress language. We will expand this to English/German as far as possible. Rainer von Scharpen will also be available as a translator/interpreter for both languages and we will ask the speakers to send us a manuscript or a PowerPoint presentation in good time so that we can translate it.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to attend, because we will have renowned literary experts and experts that you rarely see and hear. In the July issue of ‘Philatelic Journalist’ we hope to be able to present the planned programme.
