10.12.2018 - Christoph Gärtner takes over the Jakubek Archive

(wm) Wolfgang Jakubek, the well-known author, expert examiner and former top auctioneer ("Mr. Mauritius"), who recently won the Sieger Literature Prize, has handed over his archive to the German auctioneer Christoph Gärtner; this happened on 21 November 2018. The archive was housed in six metal cabinets with double doors with a height of 2.40 metres. The cabinets contain an immensely extensive collection of documents and archive material about countless philatelic subjects. One of these cabinets is filled with documentation about the hand stamps of China. It concerns documents that have yet to be thoroughly researched and evaluated. Many of the contents of the cabinets are probably still largely unknown, as can be deduced from the two-volume work "Theme - Third Reich", that was published about a year ago.
Christoph Gärtner, who has already taken over the library and the proof archive of a well-known Swiss auditor some years ago, also wishes to preserve the Jakubek Archive and keep it in good hands, i.e. in the premises of his company in Bietigheim-Bissingen.
