17.04.2017 - PostNL: delivery on the Wadden Islands completely emission-free

Holland’s largest post company, PostNL, has begun to deliver all its letters and parcels that are destined for one of the Dutch Wadden completely emission-free. Terschelling is the first island where PostNL has implemented the plan; since Tuesday 28 March letters and parcels are delivered exclusively ‘electrically’, by means of electric cars, eBikes and by foot. The other islands - Vlieland, Schiermonnikoog, Ameland and Texel – will follow the coming months. The measure is consistent with PostNL’s ambition to implement sustainability wherever possible.
All diesel vans and mopeds on Terschelling have now been replaced by electric cars, electric scooters and eBikes. The Dutch Wadden Islands have adopted a common ambition with regard to become totally self-sufficient in 2020, as far as the areas of energy and water supply are concerned. TNT contributes to this goal by delivering its letters and parcels completely emission-free.
