The famous German auction house from Mülheim, Harald Rauhut, has been recently renamed: it now goes under the title ‘Rauhut-Kruschel Auctions’. The renamed auction house has as its manager the owner, Harald Rauhut. The reason for the name change is the fact that the Mühlheim-based auction house has acquired the Berlin auction house Kruschel, with all its possessions and its database. The name Kruschel is not only in Germany but also in the international auction scene something of a legend: it has always been standing for specialised auctions with items of outstanding quality, especially classic Germany. ‘In this way parts have been brought together that belong to be together,’ one could say. And from now on we can see this adage in action, in the form of a ‘Prussian collection from Berlin’ – with the word ‘collection’ ambiguously meant.
