The German stamp designer Werner Hans Schmidt will be on focus when the International Stamp Fair in Munich (1, 2 and 3 March 2012) begins. His souvenir sheet ´The Sistine Madonna´ will be issued on the first day of the event. It concerns a joint issue with the Vatican postal authorities and it goes accompanied with a special postmark and special offers from Deutsche Post. One of the interesting items is a special sheet containing the 21 stamps that have been designed by Werner Hans Schmidt. The opening event with Schmidt will take place on Thursday 1 March 2012, at the "Collector’s Forum” in the MOC conference center.

On the first day of the Munich event other stamps will be issued: ´Spring Break´, ´Mercator´ and ´Mourning Stamp´. Three special hand stamps will be used, based on the following themes: ´Spring Break´, ´500 years Sistine Madonna´ and ´Pumuckl´.

The dealer list is available online: www.briefmarken messe.de. On show will be an attractive showpiece: the so-called Dalai Lama Letter.

The 15th International Stamp Fair in Munich will be held from Thursday 1 March until Saturday 3 March 2012 in the MOC in Munich-Freimann (underground line U6 Kieferngarten). Admission is free. Current information can be found on www.briefmarken-messe.de.
