They were certainly a success, the first personalised postage stamps that were issued to support the redevelopment of the historic Münster Tower of the Freiburg Cathedral in Germany. They were sold rapidly enough to justify a second series, thus enabling philatelists and ‘tower enthusiasts’ to enhance their collections and/or support the reconstruction works in Freiburg. This year’s edition of the ‘Münsterturm’ stamps shows pictures of the renowned photographer Karl-Heinz Raach. The stamp sheets, containing twenty stamps each, are available with 0.45 and 0.55 values, costing respectively 18 and 20 euros. The difference between the nominal value of the stamps and the selling price goes directly to the reconstruction fund. For more information: see www.wir-bauen-mit.de
