During the upcoming IPHLA exhibition in Mainz, the AIJP will – in cooperation with the European Academy of Philately (AEP) – organise a unique symposium. Theme of this symposium, to be held on 3 November 2012 from 11 until 13 h., will be ‘The early beginnings of philatelic literature in Europe’. Well-known philatelists and members of the AEP, many of them members of the AIJP, will elucidate us about the chosen subject. For instance – and we mention their names with thankfulness - people like Jean-Francois Brun (F), Jean Voruz (CH), Dr. Mark Bottu (B), Chris King (GB), Bruno Crevato-Selvaggi (I), Jose Ramon Moreno (ES) and Prof . Jerzy Bartke (PL) have already pledged to contribute. Apart from that, I myself will have the pleasure of presenting the early stages of philatelic literature from Germany and Austria. Probably never before a symposium has been held with such an impressive array of experts and specialists; the AIJP feels really honoured that it may offer the AEP an appropriate stage to display its knowledge.
