Recently it has become clear that there still are serious uncertainties regarding the international stamp exhibition INDONESIA 2012 in Jakarta (Indonesia), especially concerning the number of exhibition classes. Originally the message was that entry to the exhibition was open for all classes (see Flash, No. 114, p. 2), but in September of this year the FIP announced that only "selected classes" were open for entry (see Flash, No. 115, p. 2). Anyway, even then it still remained unclear which classes would be available for entry and which not. Now it seems that the Astrophilately class will not be available during INDONESIA 2012, since Bulletin 1 only mentions an "Aerophilately" class. This is a serious setback for competitors who wish to participate with their Astrophilately collections. Even apart from that it seems strange, becaus the FIP Commission for Astrophilately will has planned a meeting in Jakarta. The Astrophilately Class – for more than a quarter of a century a very welcome part of international exhibitions – seems to have been excluded from INDONESIA 2012, and that for unknown reasons. Whether astrophilatelists will, under these circumstances, still be challenged to visit the exhibition in Jakarta and the meeting of the FIP Commission remains to be seen.
