Dieter Michelson (picture), who acts amongst others as Managing Director of Heinrich Koehler Stamp Auctions in Wiesbaden, has been Vice President of the IFSDA (the International Federation of Stamp Dealers’ Associations) since 2001. After ten years he has resigned from this job, during this year’s Annual General Meeting of the IFSDA, in Monte Carlo (Monaco).

The reason for his resignation lies in new vocational tasks that have been assigned to him; his workload has grown so much that he no longer is able to meet the requirements of his IFSDA job.

The current IFSDA President, Ingomar Walter, has said that he regrets Dieter’s resignation, but bade him farewell with a very practical gift: a Swiss Army knife. ‘To be able to cut yourself loose,’ said Ingomar. ‘In the improbable case that you are stuck!’
