In 2005, the AIJP did fare very well and the same seems to go for the new year 2006. In January alone, eleven people applied for the membership, seven of them from outside of Germany. ‘This is something to be happy about, of course,’ says AIJP President Wolfgang Maassen. ‘Because we are an organisation that wants to operate on a world wide basis. So, we happily welcome every author or journalist that wants too become part of our international association.’ The success of the rejuvenated AIJP can easily be explained: members profit from an expanding range of activities, that offer advantages for anyone in the field of writing and journalism. The AIJP’s website (www.aijp.org) visually explains what kind of advantages are offered to its members – and that for the rather modest amount of 30 euros per year.
