Last October one of the highest decorations that a publication can receive in the literature-class has been awarded to the MICHEL publishing house. It happened in Toronto (Canada), during the 7th edition of the National Philatelic Exhibition. MICHEL was honoured with a Gold Medal plus a special prize for its famous MICHEL-Deutschland-Spezial-Katalog. Everybody at MICHEL´s (and especially the editorial staff) must have been pleased about this high award: literature exhibits normally receive awards not much higher than on the level of Vermeil. The AIJP is happy to congratulate its partner MICHEL on this success!

´Awarded to MICHEL for their long-time efforts with regard to the specialized cataloguing of a high-complex collecting area´ is the formulation the jurors used to justify the award. Schwaneberger Verlag, publisher of the MICHEL catalogues, has stated that, in future, it will try to keep up to the high standards it has set with regard to the titles it produces. The AIJP congratulates the MICHEL publishing house and especially the editors of the company (some of them a member of the AIJP) heartily.
