Since 1966, the spending of the surcharges on the German ´Tag der Briefmarke´ stamps has been a responsibility of the so-called ´Stiftung´ (Foundation). The word ´Stiftung´ summarizes the longer official name, Stiftung zur Förderung der Philatelie und Postgeschichte. It is an organisation that – as the name says – promotes philately and postal history (and especially philatelic literature) extensively. The organisation has a set of rules for those authors that want their philatelic publications to be sponsored. Every three years the foundation awards the prestigious Hermann-Denninger-Literatur-Preis to an outstanding publication and to the author of this publication.

The AIJP regards it as an honour to be able to greet the foundation as a sponsoring member and it welcomes the ´Stiftung´ on behalf of the other members: authors, editors and journalists. Rüdiger Krenkel, who manages the foundation, is known to be someone with a passion for professional philatelic literature. The cooperation between the foundation and the AIJP can be used for creating exciting perspectives for projects that concern philatelic literature.

The AIJP is especially glad with the membership of the foundation because of the analogy of the goals of the AIJP and the foundation.
