05.12.2005 - Giancarlo Morolli: 50 Years as an Author!
If a magazine dedicates Page 50 to one of its collaborators and if it uses the same page to express the ´Compliments of the editorial staff´

If a magazine dedicates Page 50 to one of its collaborators and if it uses the same page to express the ´Compliments of the editorial staff´ to him, there must be a good reason to do so. And there is. The well-known Italian philatelic magazine Il Collezionista Francobolli, that honoured its editor Giancarlo Morolli (AIJP 0719 a member since 1968) in the way described, wanted to express its gratitude for his fifty years as a philatelic author. Giancarlo published his first contribution on 19 March 1955. Since then, thus for more than fifty years, he has kept on publishing – not only in Italy, but also abroad – his articles in philatelic books and magazines.

For many years, he has been active in the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP), where he has left his tracks as President of the Thematic Commission and where he has been working on numerous documents in relation to the exhibition rules of the Thematic Class.

Career-wise, Giancarlo originates from the world of IBM. His thinking and manners can be compared to the computers this multinational company produces: analytical, open-minded, varied. It has always been a pleasure to meet Giancarlo, who is constantly accompanied by his friendly smile and his open nature. Thanks to the fact that he knows how to speak his languages, he always has been – and always will be – an easily welcome conversation partner. Giancarlo, best regards from the AIJP on this really exceptional jubilee!
