25.05.2016 - The old trusted letter receives about 400 declarations of love

With over 400 entries, the film competition "Why would you still write a letter?" exceeded the expectations of the initiators. In January, German Post and the Museum for Communication in Berlin challenged young people to declare their love to the handwritten letter; they had to do this by making a video. Last week, there was an award ceremony in the Museum for Communication in Berlin where the winners of the competition were honoured. The first place (prize money: 4.000 Euros) was for Gitte Hellwig from Berlin, who sent in a short movie that explained why she is charmed by the personal approach of an handwritten letter; she did this in a most artistic way and with a personal commentary that explained her love for the classic letter. Maximilian Bohl from Düsseldorf came in second (movie title: ‘Nostalgia’, prize money 2.000 Euros) and in third place ended Anna Levinson from Berlin (prize money: 1.000 Euros).
