27.04.2016 - Rossika 2016 from 20 to 22 May 2016 in Berlin

(Unterschleissheim) In 2016, the international stamp and literature exhibition ‘Rossika’ will take place from 20 to 22 May. It will be held in the ‘Russische Haus der Wissenschaft und Kultur’ (Russian House of Science and Culture) in Berlin. The event is organized by the German ‘Philatelistische Akademie e.V.’ and the German firm Schwaneberger Verlag (publisher of the famous Michel catalogues). The exhibition is supported by the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin, the Philatelists Association Berlin-Brandenburg, the ‘Elite Academy Club for Russian Philately "Rossika" and the Association of Stamp Collectors Russia/USSR Berlin. Many of the exhibits are focused on Russian-German relations, but also aerophilately, Zeppelin mail and astrophilately will play a big role.

The exhibition is dedicated to several memorable events:

* The 55th anniversary of the first manned space flight;
* The 85th anniversary of the exchange of mail between the German airship "Graf Zeppelin" and the Soviet icebreaker "Malygin";

* The 125th anniversary of the first flight of Otto Lilienthal;
* The 150th anniversary of the first Russian Zemstvo stamp.

Exhibitors from all over the world will take part in the event. Already applications from Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal and the Czech Republic have been received. Every day of the exhibition the German and Russian postal administrations are offering a different postcard and a special hand stamp.

Opening hours: Friday 20 May 13-18 h., Saturday 21 May 10-18 h and Sunday 22 May from 10-13 h. The official opening will take place on 20 May 2016 at 17 h., in the premises of the Russian House of Science and Art in Berlin (address: Friedrichstrasse 176-179, 10117 Berlin, 1st floor).
