19.02.2016 - Stephen Reinhard: FIP Director for the Americas

Within the Board of Directors of the International Federation of Philately (FIP), the person who represents the Americas is Peter P. McCann. At the end of McCann’s term, later this year, a new Director has to be chosen; McCann cannot keep his seat on the Board because of time limits.
The American Philatelic Society (APS) has already decided who will be the successor of Peter P. McCann. It is the President of the APS, Stephen Reinhard. During an APS Board Meeting earlier this year, Reinhard has been elected; he will fill the upcoming vacancy later this year.
McCann has been part of the FIP organisation for 12 years, including two terms as the FIP’s vice president. Stephen Reinhard will not have to worry about conflicting accounts, because he will step down as the APS’s President in August of this year; he is not re-electable. Reinhard has previously served as Chairman of the FIP Aerophilately Commission.
